Orchard adopt Communications Manager

Orchard adopt Communications Manager as the SMS solution of choice for ArcHouse?. At the recent Orchard User Group we were pleased to present the new partnership with Orchard. Deeplake CMGR and ArcHouse and ArcHouse Plus will be integrated further and CMGR will be marketed to Orchard users by Orchard.

Under the agreement, integration between Orchard and Deeplake's software will continue to be enhanced and endorsed by both parties, and it is intended that a programme of joint future development will provide increasing value to our joint customers.

In partnership with Capita Software Services, Deeplake is delighted that Paragon Community Housing have chosen Communication Manager (CMGR) to improve efficiency and customer service using automated two-way SMS communication.

CMGR brings benefits for Social Housing providers in a wide range of areas including Rent Management, Estate Management and Repairs and Maintenance, Lone Working, Tenant Participation and many others.

Paragon Community Housing Group, officially launched on 2nd April 2007, is a non-profit making organisation dedicated to providing a variety of housing solutions that people can afford. The creation of Paragon formalises the highly successful development partnership that has operated between Elmbridge Housing Trust and Richmond upon Thames Churches Housing Trust since 2005.  The Group now owns and manages almost 8,400 homes including general needs, housing for older people, supported housing, registered care homes, key worker, and 800 shared ownership units. It has property in the London Boroughs of Richmond upon Thames, Hounslow, Lambeth and Wandsworth; in Surrey in Elmbridge, Kingston upon Thames, Mole Valley and Woking and in Middlesex in Spelthorne.

North Wales Housing select CMGR

North Wales Housing select CMGR

Deeplake are delighted to work in partnership with Capita Open Housing to bring an integrated SMS solution to North Wales Housing to facilitate improved tenant communication in Rent Collection, Repairs Management, Surveys and a range of internal communications needs.

North Wales Housing was formed in 1974, and is a modern, dynamic organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people in need across North Wales. NWH are committed to providing homes people love to live in, and to supporting communities people love to be part of.

NWH provide homes and services to around 2,220 households, and employ over 130 dedicated people across the organisation, with an annual turnover of around £9 million and governance provided through a voluntary Board of Management, at least 25% of whom are tenants.

Christian Action

Christian Action Chooses Deeplake with V6

Deeplake is delighted that Christian Action have upgraded to our new V6 release, taking advantage of new Social Media features and digital channels.

Marlon Shaw is head of ICT at Christian Action, a Housing Association founded in 1966 as a local, church-based, response to the need for affordable housing for rent. Today it owns or manages over 1550 properties in four North London boroughs - Enfield, Barnet, Haringey and Waltham Forest.

Marlon recently upgraded to Deeplake’s CMGR v6.0 “We are really pleased with version 6 and the Tenant Portal. The support provided when we have had any technical glitches or issues with the Portal has been brilliant.”

Marlon was astonished with the turnaround from the initial Deeplake presentation of v6.0 and the tenants’ portal to implementation and roll-out. The speed, support and low cost was particularly impressive, along with a really user-friendly platform that was received internally with great enthusiasm.

Marlon thought the support he received from the team was ‘amazing’, with issues being resolved, in some cases, within hours. He felt this helped him keep the momentum behind the initial enthusiasm for v6.0 and enabled an efficient and effective promotion to customers.

Christian Action has been promoting the tenants’ portal via newsletter and email to date and have started a staff incentive scheme to increase sign ups. Marlon believes being able to make payments online 24/7 is a real benefit for their customers. They have seen huge benefit in being able to confirm appointments via text and are planning to roll this out for repairs. Marlon is also determined to take on the arrears module to help identify payment trends for early intervention.

Vectis Housing Association and Omniledger

Vectis Housing Association and Omniledger

We are delighted to welcome Isle of Wight based Vectis Housing Association to the Deeplake community, working closely with one of our leading partners Omniledger.

Deeplake's CMGR will be deployed, fully-integrated with Omniledger, to streamline communication with tenants and further improve efficiency and customer service. The use of posted paper as a means of communication is increasingly dated, environmentally unfriendly, time-consuming and costly. SMS communication is simple, widely adopted and very low cost.

Vectis was formed, as a non-charitable Housing Association, in 1974, by the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce, to provide affordable rented housing for local key workers.The first new homes were built in 1980, and by 1990 there were approximately 90 distributed around the island. The tenancies for virtually all of these were either nominations from, or selected via, the Council's housing list, the key worker concept having been overtaken by the greater housing need of the wider Island community.

In 1990 Vectis became managing Agent to East Cowes housing Association ECHA, which had been founded in 1948 by Saunders Roe latterly British Hovercraft Corporation and GKN Westland to house it's workers in that town. 

Both Associations continued to add to their housing portfolios until the two were merged, by agreement, in 2001. Vectis is proud of it's good working relationship with it's tenants and is able to point to high levels of overall service satisfaction. This is considered fundamental to a successful future. It has embraced the principles of, "continuous improvement" examples of which are described in successive Chairman's Reports.

Friday Hill Wins Award for Use of Social Media

Friday Hill has achieved national recognition for its pioneering use of Deeplake CMGR text messaging integrated with SDM Housing to keep in touch with their residents.

Friday Hill Tenant Management Organisation (TMO), which manages around 1,000 homes in Chingford and Highams Park on behalf of the London Borough of Waltham Forest, won the award for Most Effective use of Social Media from the National Federation of TMOs.

Over 600 residents have so far signed up for the organisation’s text messaging service which enables Friday Hill to communicate information about a range of subjects including local events, repairs appointments, board meetings and changes to welfare reform.

It has been particularly effective in helping to collect tenants views on the repairs service, says Friday Hill’s Director, Jeremy Carson: "Since we acquired the SDM text messaging service in February 2012, we have seen an increase in the response rate for the repairs satisfaction survey from 26% to just under 40%, whilst substantially reducing the cost of collecting this data.” he said. "We previously spent an estimated £4,000 a year on mailing out repairs satisfaction questionnaires but the texting service has reduced this down to just over £100 a year. For a small organisation like ours, that’s a very significant saving.”

"Quite a high proportion of our residents are elderly so it’s really helpful to be able to communicate with so many of them in this way, especially in an emergency” he said. "For example, last winter, part of the area we look after suffered a major power cut, but we were able to use the text messaging service to advise residents of the problem and keep them informed of the repairs that were being carried out.
